Alexis Erger

Alexis has her Masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa. In all experiences, I use a strengths-based approach, and include a combination of family systems therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. I utilize play in much of my work, which I believe enables children to foster skills and work through traumatic experiences. My days spent working with kids are embedded into my heart and rooted in my soul; they have provided me with precious opportunities to bear witness to strength, courage, trials and triumphs. I am honored to experience the vast richness and exquisite beauty found in human connection, and always strive to utilize this connection to foster hope. With each child that I work with, I seek to create a safe, nurturing space that promotes the child’s resilience, affirms their value, and empowers them to realize their inherent strengths.
