Clinical Staff

Heather Ward

Heather attended the University of Iowa where she earned her Master’s in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. She says she chose Tanager Place because of the opportunities to learn and grow, personally and professionally. She enjoys the opportunity to serve those who often feel they don’t have a voice or are not being heard.

Her therapeutic styles include CBT, Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused.

“I know every minute I spend with a client lends me the opportunity to make an impact on this world; a ripple effect. I believe that connection is what we all crave. I believe having someone listen and understand makes us feel not so alone in the world. As a therapist, I have the opportunity to be a source of unconditional, positive regard for my clients – the opportunity to provide a space that makes people feel heard, safe and understood.”
