Jen Angus

Jen attended Northwestern College for undergraduate degree with a double major in Social Work and Spanish, and has her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Iowa.

“I have an eclectic therapeutic orientation incorporating a variety of therapeutic styles dependent upon client needs. Family systems theory is a large influencer as I feel it is essential to recognize the impact of outside factors. CBT is also very impactful due to the importance of one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions. In working with children I also feel the incorporation of play is essential as it is the way in which children best know how to communicate.

I have always had an incredibly strong passion for children and helping others. I was led to the field of Social Work when this simple question was posed to me: “If you never had to worry about money, what would you want to do with your life?” The response from my heart was to play with kids, and I am so grateful that I have been able to make that my life’s work. I am beyond blessed to be able to do this work and by all that I am able to learn and gain from the children and families I work with. It is my hope to provide them a place where they find safety, healing, empowerment, and know they are trusted, cared for, and valued for every part of themselves.”
