Camp Tanager is not just one place on a map, or one week during the year. It’s a 94-year strong community, a family, and a way of life for those who attend – if only for a short while.
With the current changes to life due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are very sad to announce Camp Tanager will suspend all sessions through August 2020. Our greatest hope was to be able to safely hold our summer camp programs this year. We believe it is impossible to maintain appropriate social distancing while living in our camping community environment. We have made this difficult decision with safety in mind. Cancelling our sessions was extremely difficult, and we know you are disappointed, as are we.
Rest assured when this storm passes, Camp Tanager will be ready. This is what we know:
- Kids are going to need camp, more than ever.
- Every one of us will need a place like Camp Tanager.
- You are going to need us to be at the top of our game.
The magic of camp will be a big part of our recovery. In the months we are apart, significant enhancements will take place at camp. Construction begins this summer on a new all-season multi-purpose grand lodge, an air-conditioned cabin, swimming pool upgrades and new and exciting programming areas for campers and the community to enjoy.
