At Tanager, our team is made up of so many professionals who are an integral part of the healing journey for our clients. As one of our newest team members, Mack (our healing dog) instinctively knows how meaningful the interactions with the children in our care can be.
Since joining the Tanager team this summer, Mack has been an added level of support to so many of the youth in our care;
- Like Elliott, who needed emotional support during the admittance process
- Or Laila, who was experiencing a particularly destructive episode
- Or Cam, who needed comfort during immunizations this fall
When Tanager human staff are unable to reach youth in traditional ways, Mack provides a unique and special form of care. His calming presence allows our inpatient clients the opportunity to decompress and process big feelings. His presence on site has served youth (and his co-workers) in a number of ways, and is just one of the many examples of the unique care options we provide at Tanager.
Your support makes innovative therapies, like Mack, possible at Tanager. Your commitment to Tanager provides tools that build resiliency and make healing possible for so many young people. As you consider your year end giving, we urge you to consider the work that Mack and the rest of the team are doing, and ask that you give to Tanager this December.
From all of us at Tanager, we wish you a happy holiday and a joyous New Year.
