Tanager Place’s Behavioral Health Clinic has been renamed to the Mental Wellbeing Clinic to reflect changes in the mental health field and more clearly and accurately define the variety of services available.
The Mental Wellbeing Clinic offers individual, family, group and trauma-focused therapy as well as psychological testing and medication management services. Behavioral health services will continue to be offered along with mental health, brain health, family relationships, and various co-occurring substance use offerings. Tanager Place providers have diverse backgrounds and skill sets to assist clients in achieving improved wellness.
Clinic Program Manager, Lindsey Swales commented, “We are very excited about this opportunity to change our name—not only does it better reflect the variety of services that we provide in our clinic, but it also changes the language to better align with our focus: to support those in our community in achieving mental wellbeing. Our community has been through a lot in the past year and a half. We have experienced changes and strains on relationships, changes to our normal routines at school and work, financial strains, our safety has been challenged by the pandemic and the derecho, all on top of our everyday stressors. Because of this, we are seeing our mental wellbeing impacted—there are increases in rates of depression, anxiety, substance use, and family conflict. Now, more than ever, it is important to challenge the stigma that has been related to mental health, and talk about the importance of us all giving time to focus on our mental wellbeing.”
